Call for Nominations for Village Hero and Community Pride Awards

South Cambridgeshire District Council is on its annual hunt for the unsung heroes and heroines of the local community. The council gives two awards every year, one for a Village Hero, and the other for a Village or Community Group.

The Village Hero is considered as someone who goes out of their way or over and beyond the call of duty to make a difference to other people. Such a person could be of any age group.

The Community Pride Award is aimed at a group, organisation or club that has done something to make a difference to your community.

The closing date for nominations is 31 July 2012, and it is expected that the judging will take place during August. Winners will be notified shortly after and the awards ceremony will take place at the end of September.

For more details and to nominate a community group or village hero, please contact Linda Browne the Community Liason Support Officer at SCDC or go to www.scambs.gov.uk/awards.
