Do you want Superfast Broadband for Caldecote?

Madingley Exchange 6th Position

If your answer is YES, then please read on.

Even if you don’t want it for yourself, please consider reading on anyway, as your contribution will help your community.

At the moment, anyone using internet in Caldecote knows that the speed is slow, and service is “not brilliant”, and that is being polite!

We are currently on the slow lane of a 3-lane highway. We need to get onto the fast lane, and here is the best chance we will have in the next 5 years.

The governments past and present have made a lot of song and dance about getting rural communities connected to the information superhighway. But they need the service providers to get on and do it. They are, but claim to only have enough funds to reach two thirds of the country. Guess what? We are in the third of the country that is not in the current plan.

All our telephone lines are connected to Madingley Telephone Exchange, which is owned by BT. All other telecom service providers rent the lines off BT and resell to you the Customer. The service that they can provide you depends on how good the equipment at Madingley is. And its not brilliant.

BT needs to upgrade the exchange, so we can all move into the 22nd century. To do so, we need to show them that we really really want this, and to do that we must register our interest in the competition called Race To Infinity.

We need at least 1000 votes to be in the race. So far we only have 384. There are 2132 possible votes.

To register your interest, click on the picture on your right, and follow instructions from there.

Please vote today, tell your neighbours and friends, and let’s get into the information superhighway, so that life can be easier for you and the rest of the community.
