This new Solar Together initiative can help homeowners reduce their energy bills and do their bit for the environment. South Cambridgeshire District Council is one of the local authorities to declare a Climate Emergency. It is encouraging everyone to do something to reduce our carbon emission and here is one way to do that .
Solar Energy is a clean and efficient way to generate electricity from natural sunlight using solar panels. The cost of installing solar panels is high and many households are unable to afford it.
South Cambs District Council is working with Cambridgeshire County Council on the Solar Together Cambridge project. It is a group-buying scheme to help home owners purchase high-quality and competitively priced solar panels and battery storage systems for solar panels.
Any excess energy you produce is stored in a battery.
So, if you want to go green but have not been able to afford it so far, then now is your opportunity to try this scheme. It is free to register your interest and closing date is 6 October 2020. You don’t have to commit to anything upfront until you have received a quotation and considered the options open to you.
You will also find more information on the scheme website. It tells you how the process will work, so that you get your tailor-made quotation. If you like the quote and accept it, then you can expect the work to be completed by May 2021.
I have used a group buying scheme before, and know how powerful it is to get what you need at a good price. I have signed up, and highly recommend that you do too.
#SolarTogether is your opportunity to get on the green bandwagon. The more the merrier.
