The Liberal Democrats message for European Elections 2019 is simple, clear, unequivocal, emphatic. In the age where we like to consume information and news quickly in easily digestible forms, the #BollocksToBrexit message does just that …..
it says what a lot of people are already thinking about the brexit situation, the mess that the Conservatives have made of trying to implement a flawed vote. #BollocksToBrexit!
More importantly, it stakes our claim as the torch bearers for #Remain. The LibDems are the only party that has spoken consistently for those who wish to Remain in the EU. #BollocksToBrexit
The Brexit Message #BollocksToBrexit
Since the 2016 referendum, the LibDems have been advocating a second referendum to confirm or reject whatever deal was struck with the EU. We felt it was important to give people the final say especially as we knew that promises of only upsides promised by Leave campaign leaders was false.
Events since then have confirmed our fore sight! The more mess we have seen made of the negotiations, the more we have seen the tide change and people wanting to #StopBrexit. That is the simple message which in vernacular translates to #BollocksToBrexit

Reactions to LibDem message
The main stream media reaction to this #LibDems brexit message has been mixed to say the least. It has varied from the “faux outrage” by the rags, outright misrepresentation by the Tory press such as the Telegraph, and support from The Guardian. Even the Evening Standard edited by former Chancellor of Exchequer George Osborne got the message in this article which states “LibDems spell it out”.
The newstatesman says the #BollocksToBrexit slogan is a stroke of genius, whilst another opinion piece in the Guardian headlines the message is “crass, but it might just work.
What really tickled me and has outraged more people is that Guy Verhofstadt came to London to back our #BollocksToBrexit tour. He is the leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) so it is natural that he supports our campaign.
“If there is one pro-European party in Britain, it [is] the Lib Dems,” he said. “That has always been the case.”
An article published in the Huffington Post acknowledged that behind the #BollockstoBrexit slogan is a serious message about stopping Brexit, the most pressing issue facing us in this country, a far graver issue than a petty linguistic debate.
Whichever way you look at it, the message is getting across as people talk about it and the Liberal Democrats are getting the media coverage that has so often been denied us due to an established media bias.
