East West Rail Announces Preferred Route Alignment
Finally East West Rail announced the preferred route alignment for the Bedford to Cambridge section of the line. The preference is Route Alignment 1A (Tempsford Option), with a station at Cambourne North, the line going through Highfields Caldecote and several other villages, before approaching Cambridge South Station.

Combined Authority Bus Service Tendering for No.18 and former Citi4
As previously reported, Stagecoach completely withdrew several bus routes, including No.18 which serves Bourn and Kingston. It also drastically reduced other routes including Citi4, withdrawing services along St Neots Road to Bourn Turn, Caldecote Turn and Hardwick Turn.
Combined Authority Confirms Citi4 is on list of routes to replace
Stagecoach re-routed the current Citi4 service away from St Neots Road in its new network, removing transport service from Caldecote and Hardwick villages. The Combined Authority has now confirmed that the Citi4 route along St Neots road is one of those that is being looked at for replacement service.
Stagecoach withdraws Citi-4 Service from Bourn, Caldecote and Hardwick villages
It was a shock to read on Tuesday that Stagecoach will withdraw No.18 bus service with effect from 30th October 2022. That initial shock deepened early evening on discovering that Stagecoach has effectively taken away bus service to Caldecote too by re-routing Citi4.
