Combined Authority Confirms Citi4 is on list of routes to replace

Stagecoach re-routed the current Citi4 service away from St Neots Road in its new network, removing transport service from Caldecote and Hardwick villages. The Combined Authority has now confirmed that the Citi4 route along St Neots road is one of those that is being looked at for replacement service.

As I wrote in my previous post, I officially raised the matter of Citi4 service and others like it at the SCDC Full Council meeting on 22nd September. The Chief Exec immediately followed up with the Interim Head of Transport at the Combined Authority (CPCA) in requesting that this service be included in the list of those being looked at for replacement.

The days went by and when I had no answer, I emailed the Interim Head of Transport on Thursday 29th September as time was running out. I attached some of the residents emails so he could read for himself the distraught that many are feeling.

So I waited some more. I was about to contact him again in frustration this morning when I received this response. And it is a positive one.

So, the Combined Authority has confirmed that Citi4 route is being looked at together with the list of withdrawn services, with a view to finding a replacement.

Fingers crossed that we will get a replacement.

The CPCA have now updated the Mayor’s statement of Action to include Citi4.

Once again, thank you to everyone who contacted me by phone, email, facebook etc., to provide your comments on this matter. It all helped. I will respond to you individually with this update.

Thank you so much ..so worried about our 18 bus being stopped though Bourn , as it is our only way of getting into town, dentist etc.. a smaller , .more economical bus , going every 3 hrs would still be good …
